There's a recession on and yet prices are going up. Even exhibiting at Interzoo is becoming increasingly expensive. Many exhibitors at the world's biggest pet supplies show have complained long and hard about this in recent months; some even threatened to substantially reduce their fair presence. But these were empty threats, because every company knows that Interzoo has become too important internationally for them to risk having a second-rate stand at the show. And so Interzoo, which opens its doors on 13 May, will once again set a new exhibitor record this year and extend its international spread further. In the final stages of the run-up in particular, many new exhibitors have registered to appear in Nuremberg. What more could a show organiser want? The show runs from 13 to 16 May, and the mood in advance is good. People shouldn't expect lots of brilliant innovations from Nuremberg, however: many new products are simply improvements on existing products, new food recipes or optimised packaging concepts. Nevertheless, Interzoo offers a unique opportunity to form an impression of the latest trends in the pet supplies business. New products will undoubtedly be on show and we have summarised some of the most interesting ones in this issue of PET worldwide. Yet Interzoo is much more than just a product show. It is the ideal venue for international networking and by far the biggest meeting point for the sector. During the four days of the show, jobs are advertised and filled, distribution contracts concluded and rumours circulated like nowhere else in the pet supplies world. Interzoo is akin to a bazaar, where buyers and sellers haggle and hard bargains are driven. Celebrations take place at Interzoo too, such as on the Dähne Verlag stand. The publisher of PET worldwide has acquired a good reputation over the years with a host of titles for the DIY and pet supplies sectors and celebrates its 40th birthday this year. Once again we'll be presenting some interesting new products at this year's Interzoo, so pay us a visit! Come and find out what we have to offer, or have a chat with us about the latest developments in the pet supplies market. You'll find us in hall 1 on stand 333. We're looking forward to seeing you soon! Yours Ralf Majer-Abele
