Pet Fair Asia will take place from 16 to 20 August at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre (SNIEC). An all-time record 230 000 m2 exhibition space will be occupied by over 2 200 exhibitors, who will showcase products for pets. Over 250 000 visitors from China and abroad, including 70 000+ professional trade visitors, are expected to visit the five-day event.

This year's edition is a significant milestone for Pet Fair Asia as it marks the 25th anniversary of the show. Since its inception in 1997, Pet Fair Asia has witnessed and contributed to the rise of the Chinese pet supplies industry.

A particular focus has been put on international buyers to assist their smooth return to China through a hospitality package and efficient trip to the event. Selected international buyers will engage in different onsite meetings and match-making activities as well as pet shop visits in Shanghai, tailored to put them in contact with the right suppliers and partners in the most effective way. This year the show will receive the attention of numerous C-level management staff of some of the most important international players in the industry as well as governmental institutions, who will actively participate in various forums and discussion panels.

Pet Fair Asia also offers concurrent events put in place to enhance the experience of those attending the show and to create more content and networking opportunities. The event agenda centres on advocating for the sustainable development of the global pet industry.

The event opens its doors to the general public from 19 to 20 August, when local pet owners will have the chance to discover the latest pet lifestyle trends. A range of onsite activities such as Pet Supermarket, Paw-Up STORE pop-up shops, the Wagging Tail Concert, U+Market Fair, Summer Night Dog Walking Party and more, is tailored to engage the audience in the largest pet-friendly gathering in China.

The pet population in China has grown by 70 per cent in the last decade, reaching 116 million pets in 2022. 69 per cent of these are owned mainly by young generations aged from 19 to 30 years old. With the pet owner population making up only 20 per cent of China’s total population, the boom in the industry is only set to continue.
