Pet Fair Asia opens its 28th edition in Shanghai on Wednesday, 19 August, running until 23 August at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre. Organiser Globus Events expects more than 2,600 exhibitors and over 130,000 trade visitors from more than 90 countries on 320,000 sqm of exhibition space, which it describes as fully booked and the largest scale the show has reached. Around 20% of exhibitors and of the brands represented are based outside China. Canada and Thailand are staging national pavilions for the first time, joining returning pavilions from Japan, South Korea, New Zealand, Poland, the US and Taiwan. The organiser reports the strongest growth in the supply chain section, Pet Fair Asia Supply, in the cat and small animal segments, and in technology and lifestyle ranges such as home, fashion and travel products. The exhibitor list has now been published online at en.petfairasia.com.

Alongside the pet show, VIV Select China runs from 19 to 21 August at the Shanghai World Expo Exhibition & Convention Center with more than 500 livestock exhibitors; a free shuttle links the two venues on 20 and 21 August, but each show requires separate registration.
