The Plaček Group, one of the leading pet store chains in Europe, will continue to focus on expansion in the coming years. By 2024, the Czech-based company wants to increase the number of its stores to 500. By 2032, owner and CEO Dušan Plaček expects to operate as many as 1 000 stores. The focus of the expansion will be on the home market of the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Poland. In Poland alone, a country with 38 mio inhabitants, Plaček can imagine launching up to 600 stores.

In contrast, his activities in Romania, where the company operates six stores, and in Croatia, where the first store was opened this summer, are to be terminated, according to Dušan Plaček. In this context, there is currently a rumour that the Plaček Group will sell its stores in Romania and Croatia to the Fressnapf Group. This option would make sense, as the Krefeld-based trading company is already active in Croatia and plans to launch its first store in Romania.
