Symrise sales surge

The operations of Symrise, a listed supplier of fragrances and flavourings for the pet products industry among others, have performed outstandingly in the first six months of this year.

The company has seen sales and results surge, with organic sales growth at 10.2 per cent. Calculated in the reporting currency, inclusive of portfolio and currency effects, sales increased by as much as 18.5 per cent to 2.26 bn euros (same period in the previous year: 1.908 bn euros). Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation rose by 15.7 per cent to 486 mio euros compared with the same period in the previous year.

At 229 mio euros, the consolidated profit for the first half of the year surpassed that of the previous year at 196 mio euros by 16.6 per cent. Symrise has accordingly upgraded its outlook for the year as a whole, aiming for organic sales growth of well over seven per cent and an EBITDA margin of around 21 per cent.
