Symrise has invested €1.7 million in a new training centre at its headquarters in Holzminden, Germany. The facility, which opened on 19 October, covers around 340 m² and combines workshop training with classroom instruction. It has capacity for around 30 apprentices in five technical professions: industrial mechanics, electrical engineering for industrial operations, automation technology, technical product design and chemical production. All training for these professions is now brought together in one central location. Symrise also offers around 20 apprenticeships in administrative professions.
In total, the Holzminden site currently offers 15 apprenticeship programmes and two dual-study programmes. According to the company, 490 graduates from the apprenticeship cohorts of the past 26 years still work for Symrise, 41 of them in leadership positions. Dr Stephanie Cossmann, Board Member for HR, Legal and Sustainability and Labour Director, described the centre as an investment in the region and in the company’s long-term success. Planning began in 2022 and construction in November 2025. The project forms part of Symrise’s ‘Holzminden Site Vision 2035’.
