26.07.2007
The Austrian DIY store chain boosted its sales by more than 16 per cent in the first half-year

In the first half of 2007, Baumax reported an increase in sales of 9.2 per cent in Austria. The markets in central and south-eastern Europe yielded an overall increase in sales of 25 per cent, resulting in a company-wide sales increase of 16.6 per cent, according to a press release by the company. In the release Baumax has said that it does not expect this trend, which it attributes largely to the weather conditions, to last until the end of the year. For 2007 as a whole the company expects sales in the order of € 1.25 bn. The number of stores is expected to grow from 124 to 132.
