Anido braves the weather

27.02.2006
More exhibitors and a bigger exhibition area, but fewer visitors due to snow

The latest edition of the Belgian trade show Anido attracted 120 exhibitors and occupied 5 per cent more space than last time. 5 014 visitors attended, 3 015 on the Sunday and 1 999 on the Monday. Heavy snowfalls on the Sunday prevented the number of visitors from reaching the 3 500 mark. This was the first time that visitors were able to register on the Internet in advance and thereby gain free admission, and around 4 300 visitors availed themselves of this option. By placing orders with 22 exhibitors participating in a special promotion, visitors were also able to collect so-called “Anido points”, which could then be redeemed for gifts. 28 530 points were exchanged in all for 616 gifts.
The Anido Awards were presented once again, with 44 new products vying for the top slots. In the pet food category, the award went to Laroy Duvo for its “Iams Cat” meal tray. The next Anido is on 17 – 18 February 2008 in Kortrijk. A more detailed report features in the next issue of PET in Europe.
