Ideas and inspiration

With 156 exhibitors and 4,612 visitors, the Belgian trade fair Anido can look back on a successful 24th edition in February 2026.

Once again, the biennial trade fair proved to be a place where professionals from the pet care industry connect, exchange ideas and inspiration, and collectively shape the future of the sector.

One recurring topic of conversation on the exhibition floor was the palpable pressure on sales and profit margins in the pet care industry. Ongoing macro-economic uncertainty and cautious consumer spending are affecting both retailers and manufacturers, leading to a more restrained approach across the entire value chain.

At the same time, however, Anido once again confirmed the robustness, entrepreneurial spirit and resilience of the pet care market. Even in challenging conditions, manufacturers and suppliers continue to invest in innovation and entrepreneurship.

Sustainable growth

This was reflected in a wide range of new products and retail concepts, designed to re-engage consumers and encourage renewed investment in the wellbeing and comfort of their pets. The best fresh ideas were recognised with New@Anido award.

In the Food category, Cheers & Pet by Dog & Cat Supply took first place. This pasteurised complementary feed offers all the benefits of goat kefir and can be used as a topper on dry food, a snack or a reward.

In the Accessories and Care Products category, the top prize went to the Glow Jumper 2.0 by German brand Lumiies. Designed for style-conscious dogs, this neon-coloured jumper offers high visibility and comfort.

The Sustainability Award was presented to Yokuu for its probiotic stain and odour remover for pets. This spray is pet-friendly and lick-safe, using micro-organisms instead of harsh chemicals.

Overall, exhibitors reported high quality business contacts and promising new leads, strengthening confidence that demand will pick up over the course of the year. In that sense, Anido continues to inject momentum into the sector and provides an ideal springboard for a successful 2026, in which the Belgian pet care market can once again move towards sustainable growth.
