The Belgian pet specialist Tom&Co is steadily pressing ahead with the strategic expansion of its branch network in the province of Antwerp. On 3 June, the company opened a new, highly service-oriented specialist store at Gentseweg 396 in Beveren. With this new opening, the retailer is responding to the continuously rising demand for specialised pet care and expert advice in the growing Waasland region.
The new store concept focuses on integrating brick-and-mortar retail, digital services and in-store services. On the shop floor, customers will find more than 4,500 items for dogs, cats, small mammals, birds and aquatics. To meet the needs of modern pet owners, Tom&Co complements its product range with omnichannel services such as Click & Collect and a convenient home delivery service.
A particular focus of the branch is on expanding its range of services, positioning the company as a holistic partner for animal health. The branch features a professional dog wash facility, which pet owners can use flexibly on a self-service basis throughout opening hours without the need for a prior appointment. In addition, an in-house grooming salon has been integrated, where qualified groomers provide professional coat and nail care for dogs, cats and rodents. Free water tests for aquariums and close cooperation with local animal experts round off the service portfolio.
The new store in Beveren is managed by experienced multi-franchisees Johan and Tamara. The duo has extensive industry experience within the Tom&Co Group: Johan has a 30-year history with the company and has been successfully running the Berchem branch for 28 years. Together with Tamara, they have consistently expanded their own branch network over the past five years. Following the branches in Kontich and the one in Stabroek, which opened last year, the new shop in Beveren is now the fourth branch under the management of the entrepreneurial duo. To launch the business in the region, the team is relying on traditional crowd-pullers and multi-day discount promotions on feed and bedding brands to quickly secure market share in the new catchment area.
