They call themselves click & collect, drive or collect in-store: retail concepts that enable clients to buy online and pick up their goods in the store are experiencing strong momentum in the pet speciality retail sector during the coronavirus crisis. This is reported by different pet retail groups across Europe and the USA.
In the USA, Petco is promoting its so-called kerbside pick-up by stressing that this service "helps to protect health and safety of all clients while minimising social exposure by ordering online and getting your items hand-delivered to your car".

The Söll company, which belongs to the Oase Group, is currently manufacturing disinfectants for commercial use for the Bavarian State Office for Health and Food Safety. Maul Ledermanufaktur is sewing one-size masks for adults and masks in a smaller size for children in its saddlery. The masks are available in various colours and with different motifs. At Hunter, a portion of the production facilities was likewise switched to the manufacture of mouth and nose masks at the end of March.During the coronavirus pandemic, more Italian consumers than ever want to know where to get the cheapest pet products. This is what the Italian edition of the price comparison portal Idealo found out, according to a report by the newsletter Pet B2B. The pet categories which have achieved the highest growth in recent months are bird products (+235.6 per cent) and aquatics products (+171.2 per cent), followed by dog products (+145.7 per cent) and cat products (+115.6 per cent).
Idealo also noted that the consumer prices of 21 selected pet products increased by 2.9 per cent on average during the lockdown period (in comparison with the period before).
