Cotecnica acquires Italy's Life Pet Care

Spanish agri-food cooperative Cotecnica, owner of the natural pet food brand Ownat, has completed the acquisition of Italian manufacturer Life Pet Care S.r.l. The cooperative, based in Bellpuig in the Lleida province, said the deal gives it a direct presence in Italy and marks a further step in its European growth strategy.

Life Pet Care closed the 2025 financial year with revenue of €40 million. While the company also sells in markets such as the United Arab Emirates, Poland, Greece and Latvia, its core business is the Italian domestic market. Through the acquisition, Cotecnica gains an established commercial network to accelerate the roll-out of its brands in the country.
