New ‘Supreme’ app for feeding advice

To mark this year’s ‘Rabbit Awareness Week’, Supreme Petfoods, the UK’s leading expert in small animal nutrition, has launched a ‘nutritional rethink’ to support the event’s theme, ‘Feeding Bunnies Better’.

Following new research highlighting a lack of clarity regarding the nutritional needs of rabbits and guinea pigs, the ‘Selective Nutrition Guide’ app – a new web-based tool – takes the guesswork out of what to feed them and provides reassurance that the pet’s nutritional needs are being met.

Rabbits and guinea pigs are the third most popular pets in the UK after cats and dogs; nearly 2 million of them live in British households.

To provide clarity on species-appropriate feeding, Supreme has taken the initiative and simplified its feeding guidelines – with a comprehensive guide that is easy to understand and even easier to follow.

The new ‘Selective Nutrition Guide’ app is a unique digital tool developed in collaboration with veterinary expert Molly Varga from ‘The Exotics Animals Vets’. Here’s how the web app works:

- Body Condition Score (BCS) guide: Visual step-by-step instructions help owners accurately assess their pet’s weight and body condition.

- Personalised portion calculator: Precise daily amounts of ‘Selective Nuggets’, including which variety to feed and in what quantity – based on the pet’s individual needs, body weight and BCS.

- Safe food database: A comprehensive guide explains which leafy greens, vegetables and occasional fruit treats are safe to feed, how often and in what quantities.

- Weekly meal planner: With customisable options and the ability to save weekly meal plans, this planner ensures a balance between your pet’s individual preferences, a varied diet and the availability of ingredients.
