The newly launched ‘EcoPaws Asia‘ programme, which is based on the standards of the Pet Sustainability Coalition (PSC), will focus on highlighting sustainability as a key driver of the Asian pet industry – it will be unveiled for the first time at Pet Fair Asia 2026, taking place from 19 to 23 August at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre (SNIEC).
In today’s global market, sustainability is no longer an optional commitment but a fundamental requirement that shapes the way industries develop, compete and grow, the trade fair organisers explain in a press release on the focus topic. Based on a formal agreement with the PSC, the programme is aligned with the PSC’s established standards and guidelines, thereby ensuring consistency, credibility and a sustainable impact across all activities.
EcoPaws Asia is a strategic initiative of Pet Fair Asia that aims to recognise, promote and drive leadership in sustainability within the Asian pet industry.
As part of Pet Fair Asia, a series of integrated activities will be introduced to offer enhanced visibility and targeted visitor guidance to brands whose products align with sustainable development goals.
In particular, the stands of selected companies will be highlighted as ‘must-visit’ destinations to guide visitors towards outstanding innovations and enable them to experience these achievements first-hand. Furthermore, the dedicated EcoPaws Asia Showcase area will present a curated selection of environmentally conscious and forward-thinking products. The programme will also facilitate targeted business connections between buyers seeking sustainable solutions and the manufacturers behind them. An awards ceremony will recognise outstanding achievements and best practices across various categories, whilst on-site forums will ensure that sustainability remains at the heart of discussions.
‘We recognise that sustainability is now a key driver in shaping the future of the pet industry,‘ said Aida Cuko, International Business Director at Pet Fair Asia Ltd. ‘Across Asia, and particularly in China, we are seeing remarkable progress in innovation, responsible manufacturing and ESG alignment. EcoPaws Asia reflects our commitment to supporting and amplifying these efforts, whilst ensuring that sustainability is fully integrated into the industry’s growth narrative. We are particularly pleased to have the support of the PSC for this initiative. As experts in this field, their support and guidance will help us to integrate internationally recognised sustainability standards into the EcoPaws Asia framework.‘
