Maxi Zoo has been awarded Gold in ‘France’s Favourite Retailer 2026’ rankings in the pet retail category, with the accolade presented at a ceremony in Paris on 1 April.

According to a message posted on the company’s LinkedIn page, the recognition is significant for the retailer not only because of its visibility within the French market, but also because it is based directly on customer perception, reflecting high levels of trust, loyalty and engagement among French pet owners.

Maxi Zoo emphasised the importance of collaboration with suppliers and business partners in supporting its commercial performance and customer offer. But primarily, the company attributed the award to the work of its store teams and head office staff, pointing to their commitment to customer service, specialist advice and animal welfare. According to Maxi Zoo, these elements continue to be key differentiators in an increasingly competitive market, where consumers are looking not only for products, but also for expertise, reassurance and personalised service.

For the ranking, the consulting firm EY Parthenon, part of the Ernst & Young group, surveyed 12,000 consumers, evaluating 213 retail chains across 19 sectors.
