Pet Fair Asia will return to Shanghai from 19-23 August for its 28th edition, with organisers promising the event’s most international and business-focused edition to date. While international participation is increasing from six foreign pavilions in 2025 to nine, and a 20 per cent rise in visitors from overseas, organisers will introduce a new VIP B2B Day at the opening of the fair. The invitation-only first day will bring together carefully selected local importers, distributors, wholesalers, buyers and media partners, providing a quieter and more targeted environment for business meetings and networking. According to a press release, the aim of the VIP B2B Day is to sharpen the focus on core networking with Chinese domestic buyers, while global participants can explore the exhibition comprehensively and at their own pace.

Record numbers and new industries

The 2026 edition of Pet Fair Asia will occupy a record 320,000 m2 (3.4m sq ft) of exhibition space and host more than 2,600 exhibitors, presenting a comprehensive range of pet industry products from food, supplies and healthcare to functional nutrition, fresh pet diets, smart technologies, fashion and travel solutions.

The exhibition will also highlight emerging opportunities at the intersection of the pet sector and adjacent industries.

Several themed areas will showcase innovation and emerging trends. These include Discovery, focusing on new product concepts, Genius Hub, dedicated to smart technologies, Pet Fashion Week, highlighting design and lifestyle products, and a Start-up zone aimed at supporting the next generation of pet industry entrepreneurs.

Pet Fair Supply expanding as well

Alongside the main exhibition, Pet Fair Supply will continue to expand. The co-located supply chain platform will add two additional halls in 2026, bringing the total to ten outdoor halls and more than 70,000 m2 (753,47 sq ft) of space. More than 900 exhibitors are expected to participate, covering equipment, packaging, smart factory solutions, OEM/OBM/ODM manufacturing and third-party services.
