Pet Fair Asia draws visitors from 102 countries

The 28th Pet Fair Asia closed in Shanghai on 23 August. According to organiser Globus Events, the show occupied 320,000 m² of gross exhibition space, up from 310,000 m² a year earlier, with more than 2,600 exhibitors and over 130,000 trade visitors. The final two days, open to the public, drew more than 400,000 consumers.

The growth the organiser highlights is in international reach. Trade visitors came from 102 countries, compared with more than 90 in 2025, and international attendance rose by 23%. Globus Events reports particularly strong increases from South East Asia and South America, with the US and the EU also growing above the overall average. International exhibitors accounted for a fifth of the total and came from 32 countries. Country pavilions from South Korea, Japan, New Zealand, the US and Poland returned at a larger scale, Canada exhibited again after six years and Thailand made its debut. At the Thai pavilion's opening, deputy agriculture minister Watcharaphon Khaokham described his country as the world's second-largest pet food exporter and China as a key trading partner.

For the first time, the opening day was reserved as a VIP B2B day with invitation-only access and visitor screening. The organiser brought in more than 60 Chinese buyer groups, 100 selected international buyers from 22 countries and delegations from Brazil, Thailand, Vietnam and Malaysia. More than 80 summits and forums ran alongside the exhibition; the International Pet Industry Summit's ASEAN CEO Summit, held the day before the show opened, counted 760 delegates and 25 speakers. A new World Debut platform presented over 100 products launched for the first time.

Pet Fair Asia returns to the Shanghai New International Expo Centre from 18 to 22 August 2027. In April 2027, the organiser will add a curated event at the West Bund Dome in Shanghai for premium niche and crossover brands, listed in the release as Pet Fair Asia Boutique. Before that, the network stages Pet Fair South East Asia in Bangkok from 28 to 30 October, Pet Fair South China in Guangzhou from 11 to 13 December and Pet Fair Beijing from 11 to 14 March 2027.
