The European Pet Organization (EPO) has announced its participation in the EU Platform on Animal Welfare, which met in Brussels on October 16–17, 2025.
The organisation will represent the voice of the European pet sector, help support responsible transfer of pet ownership and pet keeping, improve welfare standards, and collaborative policymaking across the EU under the platforms 2025-2030 mandate, according to the announcement.
The EU Platform on Animal Welfare was established by the European Commission in 2017 and brings together Member States, stakeholders, and experts with the aim to strengthen the implementation of EU animal welfare rules, encourage voluntary business commitments and help promote EU standards on a global level.
