Das Futterhaus is strengthening its management team in Austria with two new appointments: Claudia Steyrer took over as head of marketing at the regional headquarters in Judenburg in June, the company reported in a press release. Steyrer brings with her many years of retail experience from her time at Billa AG. Most recently, she was head of marketing for the real estate company Value One.

Matthias Karpf has been recruited to head up sales. He joined the Austrian management team at the beginning of October. Karpf comes from MyShoes GmbH Austria, where he spent the last ten years as sales manager and authorised signatory.

The appointments are part of a restructuring process, which has already seen initial adjustments made to the management and team structures, the press release continues. ‘The aim is to benefit more from synergy effects through cooperation with the German system headquarters while at the same time taking specific local requirements into account in the best possible way,’ explains Felix Goral, who has been managing the operational business in Austria since 2023. The closer cooperation enables a lean structure for the national organisation and ensures that the business can be scaled with the help of the system headquarters in Germany.

‘As identical as is sensible, as individual as is necessary’ is the tenor under which processes and structures are being adapted. ‘It's not about being the same in all areas. Our new structure will actually enable us to respond much more specifically to local market needs and country-specific characteristics in the future,’ emphasised Goral. Local deviations are expressly desired in sales functions or within the expansion strategy, for example.
