Vafo Group acquires Dagsmark Petfood

The Vafo Group of the Czech Republic has completed its takeover of Finnish company Dagsmark Petfood. According to a press release by Vafo, the company is now part of the Vafo Group and will continue in business with the existing workforce.

In Finland, the Vafo Group is already represented by its subsidiary Prima Pet Premium, which also operates a dry food production plant under the Vafo Finland name. Established in 2016, Dagsmark distributes dry and moist food as well as treats, but specialises primarily in the development and production of moist food. The acquisition of Dagsmark, which is headed by CEO Riikka Koskenohi, includes the company’s production facility in the town of Mellilä.

“This is a strategic step for the Vafo Group and in particular for Prima Pet Premium. Together with Dagsmark’s moist food production, we will strengthen our position and expand into other Nordic markets,” said Timo Pärssinen, CEO of Prima Pet Premium.
