The biggest operational division, Hornbach Baumarkt, increased its sales by 7.4 per cent to 5.496 bn euros. As of 28 February, it had 167 stores (previous year: 163) and nine online shops. Hornbach Baumarkt's sales on a comparable store area and adjusted for currency fluctuations increased by 5.4 per cent, while online sales (including click & collect) grew by 10.5 per cent to 944 mio euros (previous year: 854 mio euros).
In Germany, the net sales of Hornbach Baumarkt's 96 stores and its online retail increased in fiscal 2021/22 by 4.8 per cent to 2.78 bn euros (previous year: 2.654 bn euros). Like-for-like sales rose by 3.7 per cent (previous year: 18.6 per cent).
In the eight countries covered outside Germany, Hornbach home improvement stores including online retailing achieved growth of 10.3 per cent in net sales to 2.716 bn euros (previous year: 2.463 bn euros). The proportion of group sales accounted for by foreign operations increased slightly from 48.1 to 49.4 per cent. Outside Germany, Hornbach's like-for-like sales net of currency items rose by 7.3 per cent (previous year: 10.8 per cent).
