Arvesta, the parent company of the 250 Aveve speciality stores in Belgium and the Netherlands, is targeting further growth and is to invest over 25 mio euros in expanding and modernising its production plants for equine food.
Production at the outdated Lannoo site is to be wound down by the end of 2023 and gradually relocated to the Aalter site. A new production plant for horse food will be added at this site. "This site is also located by the water, making the transportation of raw materials and products easier and more sustainable," Dirk Van Thielen, business unit director for animal nutrition, is quoted as saying in the industry portal Pet & Garden Pro.
In the spring of this year, construction also started on a completely new production plant for conventional pet food at the current plant manufacturing the Mifuma private label in Ichenhausen, Germany. The new plant, which is expected to commence operations in autumn 2022, is being built next to the existing factory, where all eco-foods will be manufactured in future.
