Mars backs sustainability

Mars Petcare Europe has pledged to use only fish from sustainable sources after 2020. Against the background of dwindling global fish stocks, Mars, one of the world’s biggest pet supplies companies, has committed itself with the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) to fish sustainability. A key milestone on this journey towards sustainability will be set in Europe by the introduction of pet food certified by the Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) by the end of 2010. This year Mars Petcare Europe will introduce this MSC certification for several fish varieties in the “Sheba” and “Whiskas” brand portfolios across Europe.
