Hill’s sales down slightly

The company saw a decline in sales in the USA, Japan and Russia, while sales grew in Germany, Australia and Mexico

The American pet food manufacturer Hill’s Pet Nutrition, part of the Colgate Palmolive Company, experienced a slight decline in sales in 2009. The company’s sales totalled $ 2.132 mio compared with $ 2.148 mio in the previous year.
Sales fell from $ 574 mio to $ 565 mio in the fourth quarter, with unit volume decreasing by as much as 8.5 per cent in the last three months of the year. Sales were down in the USA, Japan and Russia, while they grew in Germany, Australia and Mexico.
