More than 450 exhibitors and 14 500 visitors expected at the 10th China International Pet Show 2006

More than 450 exhibitors and 14 500 visitors from over 50 countries are expected for the 10th CIPS from 11-14 October at the Beijing Exhibition Center. The gross exhibition floor space reserved will amount to around 20 000 m². These were the statistics presented by the show’s cooperative partner, Nürnberg Global Fairs, in a press release. The reason given for this positive development is that enthusiasm for pets is growing in China and both dogs and cats are finding homes with more and more families. “We launched the trade fair at a time when there was virtually no market for pet products and it was even prohibited to keep dogs in cities,” said Cheng Yang, vice-president of the organiser, China Great Wall Exhibition, outlining the initial situation in 1997. She stated that the exhibitor numbers had increased fourfold and visitor numbers had tripled since the first exhibition.
