Vitakraft opens a branch in Italy

The Vitakraft Group, based in Bremen, is also expanding on the international front. Its latest subsidiary is Vitakraft Italia S.p.A., bringing the total number of Vitakraft marketing companies worldwide to 13. Back in 1997 Vitakraft acquired shares in Pet Company, a firm founded and led by Dr C. Sciurpa and based in Castiglione del Lago, close to Perugia. Vitakraft’s group headquarters in Bremen has now become the majority shareholder in the firm, which occupies a prominent position in the Italian pet product market.  Dr Sciurpa, the managing director and coproprietor, will continue to run the Italian company, which employs 42 staff. He aims to continue the company’s successful operation and to extend its share of the national market as well as propagating the global Vitakraft brand, mix and marketing strategy.
