New facility and new brand

Suziria Group is building a third production facility  since the beginning of the full-scale war and wants to  further expand internationally.

Continuing its expansion, in February 2026 Suziria Group officially launched a new 800 m² wet pet food production facility in Kalush, having already invested more than  €6.1 million in the project. Suziria Group is a family-owned group of companies that has been developing Ukraine’s pet care market for over 30 years. The Group distributes, creates, and launches brands, and operates the country’s largest pet retail chain, MasterZoo.

The new site will produce products under the Group’s well-known Half&Half brand, as well as a brand-new one called Catch. This marks the third production facility launched by Suziria Group in Ukraine since the start of the full-scale war. In addition to supporting its core operations in Kharkiv—the company’s home city—the team is actively expanding its business across Ukraine and internationally, investing in production, logistics solutions, and its retail network.

The project involved both international and Ukrainian experts, including Logrus—an engineering company and a leading supplier of equipment for food manufacturing facilities—and All About Pet-food, which provided technological support as an expert in pet food production. The equipment was sourced from global food-tech leaders in Germany, the United Kingdom, Italy, Spain, Japan, and France.

The new facility specializes in the production of wet pet food for cats and dogs in pouch packaging under the proprietary brands Half&Half and Catch. Currently, six different SKUs are being produced for each brand. The site’s current capacity is up to 5,000 tons of product per year, with a planned increase to 10,000 tons annually by the end of 2026.

The pet food is made with ingredients designed to support balanced nutrition and comfortable digestion, says Suziria. Raw materials are sourced from leading Ukrainian agricultural producers as well as trusted European partners. As of February 2026, the facility employs 16 specialists, with the team expected to grow to 48 employees by the end of the year.

‘Investing in in-house production is not only about supporting the country’s economy, but also a strategic step toward greater business stability and independence,’ said Polina Kosharna, co-owner and chair of the supervisory board of Suziria Group. ‘It is not just about ensuring quality control at every stage, reducing costs, and the ability to respond quickly to market changes. It is also about reducing import dependence — imports currently account for around two-thirds of pet products on the Ukrainian market — and creating added value within the country.’ According to Suziria estimates, as of 2025 the wet pet food market in Ukraine amounts to approximately 66,000 tons per year and continues to grow. The new production facility in Kalush will be able to cover up to 15% of this volume, stated Kosharna.

This is already Suziria Group’s third production facility in Kalush: the first, focused on grain-based pet food and treats, was launched in September 2022, followed by a second facility producing meat treats in November 2023. Another production facility of the Group operates in Kharkiv. In addition to its own brands, the company plans to manufacture wet pet food in Kalush under private labels for Ukrainian retail chains, as well as for international partners.

New brand

Catch is a new brand created in response to clear market demand: It expands the Group’s portfolio of proprietary brands in the economy and standard segment, which is currently one of the most dynamic segments in the pet care market. According to the Group, the key driver of market growth remains the shift from feeding pets human food to prepared pet food, with the affordable segment most often becoming the first step in this transition.

‘Catch is a wet pet food with a high meat content and the most transparent formulation in its segment,’ said Oleh Miroshnychenko, head of own food brands at Suziria Group. ‘We believe that even affordable pet food should be high quality and meet a cat’s natural needs.’

As of early 2026, Suziria Group exports five of its own brands—Savory, Priroda, SpecialOne, ProVet, and BuddyBoo—to 13 countries worldwide. The Catch brand is also being actively introduced to international markets.
