It is a fixed date in the global trade fair calendar: 24,351 people from 134 countries visited the 30th edition of Fi Europe in Paris. 1,470 exhibitors from the food, beverage, nutrition, food technology and pet food sectors from all over the world were on site to provide inspiration. In addition to training opportunities and important networking opportunities.
The 30th anniversary edition focused on emphasising human relationships. The Community Hub promoted collaboration and knowledge sharing through presentations and gatherings, while the Tasting Bar invited participants to experience ingredients through sensory product samples.
The Innovation Awards also provided an opportunity to celebrate groundbreaking achievements and enabled participants to expand their networks. Fi Europe 2025 created special focus areas for several of the fastest-growing segments and highlighted innovative solutions.
As functional foods and beverages become increasingly integrated into the industry, brand owners and manufacturers have the opportunity to develop products with targeted health benefits in 2026. Informa set up a special spotlight area on the topics of the gut-brain axis, microbiome modulation and the changing role of food as medicine. A special innovation tour showed how brands can add value through scientifically-backed ingredients and personalised solutions. The topic of food upcycling also gained prominence.
‘It is important that we use the insights gained from this year’s show to shape the next edition,’ explains Yannick Verry, Brand Director, Fi Europe. ‘For example, over 200 people attended the first networking event on pet nutrition. Based on this result and the feedback from participants during the show, we expect the space dedicated to pet food in Frankfurt to triple. We also plan to double the space for food production equipment and services in 2026.’
