Turning 18 is a milestone. Kiwoko, Spain’s largest chain of shops specialising in pet care, has come of age and remains true to its original goals: improving the lives of pets and offering families the best products, services and expert advice.
And Kiwoko celebrated this together with customers and families with a campaign full of surprises: more than 1,500 products with an 18% discount across all channels, direct discounts for young people who, like Kiwoko, will turn 18 in 2025, an 18% refund on purchases in physical stores (20% for regular customers) and vouchers worth €10 for online purchases from selected brands. This special campaign was rounded off with a prize draw for two pet-friendly Jaecoo 5 cars.
18 years of social commitment
Since its inception, Kiwoko has built a strong commitment to animal welfare and social awareness. Since 2013, the company has facilitated more than 63,000 responsible adoptions (19,774 physical and 43,369 virtual via the Kiwoko Adopta 2.0 platform) and donated more than 3.7 mio kilograms of food and products to animal welfare organisations in Spain and Portugal.
These efforts have been crucial in emergency situations, such as the recent DANA in Valencia and Castile-La Mancha, the earthquake in Turkey, the volcanic eruption on La Palma, the war in Ukraine and the floods in Extremadura.
The company reaffirms its commitment through projects such as the Conectados corporate volunteer programme, the Momentos by Kiwoko educational programme for students with special needs, solidarity campaigns such as Ninguna gata sin su lata (No cat without its tin) in aid of cat colonies, and collaborations with organisations such as the Fundación Once del Perro Guía (Guide Dog Foundation) and participation in the XIX Salón de la Adopción (Adoption Fair) organised by the Community of Madrid.
‘Behind every adoption, every kilo donated, every social action, there are stories of influence, connections and second chances. Our mission is to continue expanding this network of solidarity, which is already part of Kiwoko’s DNA,’ explains Caroline Arrú, Chief Marketing and Customer Officer at Kiwoko.
Looking to the future
Kiwoko is entering this new phase of ‘coming of age’ with the firm intention of increasing its positive impact, promoting responsible adoptions, expanding its volunteer programmes and assisted therapies, and forging new strategic alliances to bring about lasting social and environmental change.
