"As a creative company we are constantly seeking to produce treats that are made more lovingly and are tastier and more practical," say managing directors Angela Ufermann and Marcel Wolf. The treats are marketed under the Dokas brand as well as countless retail brands.
Treats are produced nowadays for all canine life situations - as a reward, for play and training purposes and as an intense chewing experience to keep a dog occupied. They help to create a vital, happy relationship between human and animal, and so great importance is attached to quality and raw material selection along with a gentle production process. All treats are packed in freshness pouches with a transparent viewing window, so that dog owners can check on the shape, size and quality of the treats prior to purchase.

Quality monitoring

All Dokas treats are subjected to regular quality inspection by the independent testing institute Fresenius. Nutritional value is checked at set intervals, and all production sites undergo unannounced supplier audits twice a year. "This voluntary test programme ensures continuous quality, which we show in print on the pack," adds Angela Ufermann. Dokas also turns to the independent expertise of the Fresenius Institute for chemical and microbiological laboratory investigations and product declarations. All production companies working for Dokas must meet stringent test criteria to maintain the required quality standards.

Delicious and healthy

The staff at Dokas believe that treats play a significant role in pet nutrition today. For this reason they should not only taste good, but should be well tolerated and easy to handle. The ingredients are therefore selected with great care and a lot of work goes into determining the optimal composition of the products. However, it is also stressed that the major nutrient requirement must be covered by the main food and depends essentially on the actual life circumstances of the dog, such as age, size, breed, gender, running capacity etc.
"We have made it our mission always to be a paw out ahead when it comes to dog and cat treats," says Angela Ufermann in conclusion.
