Animalis opens online shop
The French specialist retail chain Animalis has opened its online shop. The shop, animalis.com, was presented to the public for the first time at the Animal Expo-Animalis Show in Vincennes. Francois-Xavier Lehre will take over the management of the online shop. Animalis operates 40 stores in the whole of France and is recognised as one of the leading specialist retail groups in France.
The company will convert its existing store in Chennevières-sur-Marne (Val-de-Marne) into a showroom store, where all the latest products will be on show.

New award for Pussy & Pooch

The US-American pet lifestyle retailer Pussy & Pooch has been named as the recipient of the 2014-2015 Retailer of the Year by the trade magazine Pet Product News International at the pet trade fair Superzoo in Las Vegas. The company has already been honored with a lot of other accolades during the past two years, for example with the award for the "Best in Store Design 2014" by global Pet Expo and Pet Business Media and the "Readers Choice Best of LA 2013".
Pussy & Pooch has four locations in downtown Los Angeles, Belmont Shore, downtown Long Beach and Beverly Hills. The retailer points out that its assortment offers moderately priced, high quality products, services and everyday essentials with a focus on healthy nutrition and green living for pets. Pussy & Pooch wants to offer a colorful and interactive social setting for pets and their owners in its stores.

Placek Group opens 100th store

The Placek Group opened its 100th pet store in mid-November. The store is in the Bory shopping centre in the Slovakian capital Bratislava. The Czech company, which operates stores in the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Latvia, is one of the leading pet retail chains in Central and Eastern Europe. In the Czech Republic and Slovakia, the Placek Group has 32 and 30 outlets respectively, under the Super Zoo logo and 38 stores in Latvia trading as Dino Zoo.
"In our group the retail represents the most dynamic part of our business. The annual growth of sale in our whole retail will be over 30 per cent this year. We believe that our concept is the best concept on the market nowadays and we see huge potential for future growth" says owner Dušan Placek.
Suppliers from the pet product industry were present at the store opening. These included Fritz Gerke, also known as "The Silver Fox", who handles exports for the Rogz company.
