Reinhard Kolonko and Jochen Carré have gone through thick and thin together over the last few years.
At a ceremony held in Osnabrück, various friends and colleagues of Jochen Carré spoke of his broad spectrum of achievements and also highlighted the fun that the experienced product manager had derived from the industry and its products.
Saturn marketing manager Manfred Ganzenmüller, who had served under Jochen Carré for a brief period, expressed his particular admiration for the way in which Carré could evaluate and market products, for his attitude to net product creation and for his level of personal commitment. In his speech, Gerd Köhlmoos, president of the  Industrieverband Heimtierbedarf (IVH), listed the services rendered by Carré to the association of which he had been a member since its inception. Although the IVH was not a big industry association, Jochen Carré and his colleagues had understood that important sections of the population heeded it where questions of pet keeping were concerned, according to Köhlmoos.
Certificate presented to Jochen Carré
Klaus Oechsner, president of the Zentralverband Zoologischer Fachbetriebe (ZZF), expressed his thanks to Carré for Animonda’s loyalty to the speciality retail trade. In difficult economic times in particular, keeping faith with the speciality trade was not always a matter of course. In his address, in which he recounted the highlights of Jochen Carré’s career, Klaus Oechsner also noted that the "old guard that had devoted itself to the industry“ and did not just regard the pet sector as a branch of the economy like any other was gradually disappearing. In Oechsner’s words, "the vintage generations are passing.“ In recognition of his services to the pet industry Carré received a certificate from the ZZF president.
"There are only a few people who can take as much pleasure in products as Jochen Carré“, said Reinhard Kolonko. He got to know Carré in 1971 at Tetra, when he worked as his assistant – and their paths have been crossing ever since. "We have come together repeatedly in the interests of the job“, commented Kolonko in retro-spect. He described his long-standing comrade-in-arms as a man who has enjoyed his time in the pet product sector and who displayed a passionate enthusiasm for product development. Kolonko stated that Jochen Carré had never lost sight of the customer in his work.
