Maxi Zoo targets 100 more Polish outlets in three years

Maxi Zoo has reaffirmed its plan to open almost 100 additional stores in Poland within three years. Wojciech Kamiński, managing director of Maxi Zoo Polska, confirmed the target, which was first reported in June, in an interview with the Polish retail trade portal Dlahandlu.pl. The chain currently operates 186 stores in the country, up from 172 at the end of the first quarter. ‘We want to cover the best locations in large and medium-sized cities,’ Kamiński said. He expects Poland to play a very important role within the Fressnapf Group in future, owing to its pace of growth as well as the number of stores.

According to the report, Maxi Zoo is already present in almost every Polish city with more than around 70,000 inhabitants, but still sees gaps both in further towns and in parts of larger cities. The standard format remains stores of about 300 to 400 m², typically in retail parks with…
