Pets at Home Group has reported total group consumer revenue up 3.9% to £614m for the 16 weeks to 16 July 2026, the first quarter of its 2026/27 financial year. The UK's largest pet care retailer maintained its full-year guidance.
Retail consumer revenue rose 4.9% to £399m, with the company reporting market share gains and volume growth running ahead of sales growth. Around one percentage point of the increase came from a timing effect linked to the exit from the group's legacy PetPlan insurance agreement. The Vet Group grew 1.9 % to £215m, which Pets at Home describes as ahead of the market, driven by care plan sign-ups and higher average transaction values.
Under its Retail Turnaround Plan, the Handforth-based company completed category resets for dog food, cat food and treats during the quarter and launched an investment programme to refresh its store estate. Customer satisfaction…
