Coveris, a leading European packaging manufacturer, announced on 16 June the acquisition of the business and assets of Gefo Folienbetrieb GmbH, a well-established producer of cast polypropylene (CPP) films based in Gera, Germany. The deal enables Coveris to expand its position in speciality CPP applications.

Following substantial investments in film extrusion technology across its network, Coveris is now expanding its CPP extrusion capabilities to meet growing demand for recyclable mono-material packaging. The move strengthens the company's recyclable packaging portfolio and supports its 'No Waste' sustainability vision, helping customers align with the upcoming European Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR) and Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) requirements. It also promotes vertical integration within the Coveris network.
