The Pet Sustainability Coalition (PSC), in partnership with Astro Loyalty, have announced the first-of-its-kind Earth Week shopping event. From 20-26 April, sustainable brands that are PSC accredited will share special offers through Astro’s platform, according to a press release. Independent pet retailers can choose to activate those offers in their stores as well, by following this link. The offers will be marked by an Earth Week badge, enabling pet parents to save on products that are better for the planet.
The campaign was developed with input from PSC members, with Portland Pet Food Company (a PSC accredited member), helping to bring the program to life.
According to the press release, PSC offers the only accreditation in the pet industry that measures and verifies sustainable business operations. Companies go through a third-party assessment of their environmental and social practices. To qualify, they must complete a comprehensive impact assessment, meeting a minimum performance score, provide accurate documentation and show ongoing improvement year over year.
