Jan Wejbrandt has left his position as head of Maxi Zoo France after more than 12 years. Wejbrandt confirmed his departure on LinkedIn, where he reflected on the company's progress during his time in charge. He described stepping down as the close of a journey he considered both an honour and a privilege. ‘I will always follow your achievements with pride,’ he wrote, addressing his former colleagues.

The figures behind his tenure are considerable. When Wejbrandt joined, Maxi Zoo France operated 67 stores. That number has since grown to more than 467, establishing the retailer as the clear market leader in France. The company also developed its omnichannel offer during this period, expanding beyond its physical store network.

Vincent Doumerc has been named as his successor. On 1 March, Doumerc officially took up his role as CEO and simultaneously joined the Group's executive committee.

Wejbrandt indicated on LinkedIn that he intends to move on to new ventures, writing simply: ‘Now I go on to the next chapter’ ‒ though no further details have been disclosed at this stage.
