“We are thrilled with the first year results of Plastic Recovery July,” Jim Lamancusa said, the CEO of the Pet Sustainability Coalition (PSC).

The PSC had invited everybody to join the Plastic Recovery July, an initiative that addresses the pet industry’s plastic waste, which largely goes unrecycled. Plastic pollution threatens the places we and our pets call home. The pet industry uses over 300 mio pounds of plastic packaging each year, and 91 per cent of it ends up in landfills, oceans, or nature.

“Our members combined forces to remove 100,000 lbs of nature and ocean bound plastic in a single month,” Lamancusa explained. “And perhaps even more importantly, we've laid the groundwork for even more action in the coming years.” He thanked partner RePurpose Global, the major sponsor APPA and all participating members.
