Symrise AG, a listed supplier of fragrances and flavours for the pet supplies industry, increased its sales by five per cent to 1 291.6 mio euros in the first quarter of the year (Q1 2023: 1 230.2 mio euros). With sales of around 4.7 bn euros in the 2023 financial year, the company is one of the world's leading suppliers.

In particular, the taste, nutrition & health segment, in which Symrise bundles its activities relating to flavour solutions for food and beverages, pet food and healthy nutrition, contributed to the positive result with a sales increase of 7.5 per cent. The pet food division also achieved double-digit percentage growth rates. The strongest growth stimuli came from the Latin America and Asia/Pacific regions.

Symrise has confirmed its long-term growth and profitability targets for the current year. The long-term growth forecast for the relevant market is around three to four per cent. The company is aiming for sales of 7.5 to 8.0 bn euros by the end of 2028. "We are on track to achieve our targets communicated for the current year and in the long term," reports Dr Jean-Yves Parisot, CEO of Symrise AG.
