The British pet supplies company Assisi Pet Care Group Ltd has announced that it has acquired pet food manufacturer Burns Pet Nutrition.

Burns Pet Nutrition was established 30 years ago by John Burns. It is known for its range of dry and moist food for dogs along with a recently introduced product line for cats. John Burns has also said that it is time for him to retire and hand over the reins.

For Peter Mangion, founder and CEO of Assisi Pet Care, it is a pleasure to incorporate Burns into the Assisi brand portfolio. The acquisition has also added staff in the areas of product development, marketing, sales and finance, plus a facility based in Kidwelly, Wales.

Assisi was advised on the transaction by Clarion (legal), Alvarez and Marsal (finance) and TAP (tax). Burns was advised by Lexington (corporate finance), DJM (legal) and Bevan Buckland LLP (tax).
