The running of Hornbach in Sweden is being put into fresh hands. From August 2023, Joachim Lööb will be joining the Hornbach team there, according to the company. He will then take responsibility as managing director at the end of the year, succeeding Oliver Garrecht. The DIY chain currently operates eight combined DIY stores and garden centres in Sweden.

Lööb, a native Swede, fulfilled a variety of managerial functions at Volvo up to 2011. He joined Hornbach in 2012, initially as head of lean management before becoming programme manager for interconnected retailing. From 2018 he was regional manager in Sweden prior to returning to Volvo in 2022. Lööb is now switching back to Hornbach once more.
