Big turn-out for ‘Meet the Buyers’ event

Czech retail giant Placek, which operates across the Czech Republic, Poland, Slovenia, Slovakia, Latvia, Ukraine and Russia, has become the latest retailer to confirm its attendance at the Pet Industry Federation's 'Meet the Buyers' event, taking place in Liverpool on 16 November. This brings the total number of buyers taking part so far to 13, and means that retailers covering large parts of Europe and representing buying power amounting to GBP 2 bn will now be represented at the event, the biggest of its kind to take place in the UK pet industry.
Manufacturers and suppliers will present their products to each of the buyers attending during the course of the afternoon, which will be followed in the evening by a networking dinner where discussions can continue. An additional dimension to the event will be the selection of the 'Best Product Awards', which will see buyers nominating their top UK and overseas products.
