The leading US pet store chain PetSmart intends to cut the number of staff at its head office in Phoenix by 15 per cent, according to various reports in the US media. The reduction in staff is part of restructuring measures initiated by new CEO Michael Massey in a bid to make the chain more efficient. All departments of the company are expected to be affected. PetSmart currently employs around 1 700 people at the headquarters in Phoenix.
PetSmart shed 167 employees in “support group and field leadership positions” back in September of last year.
