According to the research, treats and snacks for dogs are the growth driver of the pet market

The market survey company Mintel has released a new study on the pet food and supplies market in the UK. The research finds sales of dog food reached a record £1 bn in 2012, driven by growth in the nation’s treat culture. Accounting for a tasty quarter (24 per cent) of all dog food sales, snacks and treats jumped 6 per cent between 2011 and 2012 to reach £239 mio. Meanwhile, natural treats increased 8 per cent over the same one-year period to reach £40 mio. Want to know more?
