Price cutting offensive in Switzerland

Fressnapf gives all loyalty card holders a ten per cent discount on premium pet food

In mid-January, Fressnapf Switzerland cut the price of premium pet food permanently for all customers with a loyalty card. The discount, which applies immediately in the stores and the company’s online shop, is 10 per cent and extends to brands such as Royal Canin, Iams, Eukanuba, Hill’s, Happy Dog/Happy Cat, Pro Plan, Select Gold, Iso Dog/Iso Cat, Real nature, PetBalance, Medica, Nutro Choice, Almo Nature, Schesir, JR-Farm, Versele Laga and Schweizer. The price drop initiative was backed in the two weeks to the end of January by a national poster campaign in western Switzerland and in the German-speaking area of the country. Online banners and Facebook ads were also run in parallel to support this. The new premium discount featured prominently in the Fressnapf customer flyer.
