A total of 22 individuals in the USA and Canada have been infected with the outbreak strain of Salmonella Infantis, according to a report from the American Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Twenty persons have been reported ill in 13 states and two persons have been reported ill in Canada. Multiple brands of dry dog food produced by Diamond Pet Foods at a single manufacturing facility in South Carolina have been linked to some of the human Salmonella infections, reports CDC.
