United Petfood adds third North American site

United Petfood has signed a definitive agreement to acquire a dry pet food plant in Decatur, Arkansas, from Wellness Pet Company. The two companies have also concluded a long-term supply agreement. Financial terms were not disclosed, and the Belgian private label manufacturer did not say when it expects the transaction to close.

Decatur will become United Petfood's third production site in North America, alongside Mishawaka, Indiana, and Drummondville, Quebec. United Petfood also bought the Mishawaka plant from Wellness Pet, in 2024. At the time, Wellness said it would move production to Decatur, a considerably larger facility it had acquired in 2022. In April, United Petfood entered the Canadian market with the purchase of the Drummondville site from Legault Group, as PET worldwide reported.
