Norbert Holthenrich was elected as the new president by a large majority at the Delegates Conference of the German Pet Trade & Industry Association (ZZF) in Dresden. The 52-year-old is the proprietor of the Zoo-Shop tierisch pet shop in Osnabrück and has been a member of the ZZF board for 12 years. At the ZZF annual general meeting, he declared that his priorities on taking up his new appointment would be strengthening cooperation with other associations, industry policy and retaining and recruiting members. The ZZF delegates accepted Norbert Holthenrich’s proposals regarding the composition of the new executive board and elected all members in the first ballot: Hans-Jochen Büngener, already a member of the board for 4 years and the representative of the Industry Group, was elected as new treasurer. Büngener is responsible for research, development and quality assurance at pet food manufacturer Dr. Clauder GmbH & Co. KG. Ralf Grützner, a partner of ZOOMA Zoofachmarkt Beteiligungs GmbH and managing director of the Zoo-Hoppe pet shop in Mülheim-Kärlich, was elected as new vice-president. Also elected as vice-presidents by the delegates were Ute Klein, chairwoman of the ZZF Pet Grooming Salon Group and proprietor of the Kiki dog salon in Freigericht, and Bernd Silbermann, president of the ZZF State Association Hesse, Rhineland Palatinate and Saar and proprietor of the Silbermann pet shop in Lebach.
