Pet nutrition and mineral absorption feature at feed industry symposium

The 22nd International Feed Industry Symposium on 23-26 April will bring scientists and decision-makers from all over the world to Lexington, Kentucky (USA). This year’s symposium will feature a pet session focusing on some of the issues facing the animal industry today. Speakers and topics include responding to changing needs for animal testing (Timothy Bowser, Oklahoma State University), obesity and diabetes (Fernando Rutz, Universidade Federal de Pelotas, Brazil), personalized nutrition for pets (Inge Russell, University of Western Ontario, Canada) and genomics to study aging and cognitive function (Kelly Swanson, University of Illinois). “We’re looking forward to having a diverse group of industry professionals gather in one place to discuss some of the issues the pet sector is facing worldwide,” said Doerte Laue, European Technical Pet Manager. Species sessions will also be held in the areas of dairy/beef, swine, poultry, equine and aquaculture. More information at www.alltech.com/symposium.
