Mr Bricolage: Slight increase over previous year

The Mr Bricolage Group ended 2005 with an increase in sales of one per cent to € 1.733 bn (gross). While the Mr Bricolage stores recorded growth of 1.6 per cent to € 1.595 bn, sales in Catena stores fell by 5.9 per cent to € 137.9 mio. The retail area of the Mr Bricolage stores grew compared with the previous year by 39 500 m² to 1 127 420 m² following 13 new openings and 22 store moves and expansions. Ten per cent of the 422 stores at home and abroad have now been converted to the new concepts. The “At the Heart of the Home” stores increased their sales by 8.0 per cent on a comparable area. For the Catena stores, the group reports a decline in area of 2 190 m² to 105 893 m². Here 20 closures are offset by five new stores and four store moves/expansions.
